This is a report from the “newbie” we took along with us for the ASBWPA Clean Up. To be fair, this was not Scott’s first fly fishing trip so he really isn’t a true “newbie” but it was his first weekend on the Au Sable. We asked him to put together a little trip story [...]
Jesus. When someone catches a smalll mouth on the fly this big, what do you say? “Holy mother of Christ that thing is just fucking sloppy!” comes to mind. I won’t say who sent me this (read on) or where it came from. I’m not even tagging this post too much because I can’t even [...]

I’ve heard it said that if you don’t like the weather in Northwest Ohio, just wait 10 minutes and it will change. Saturday skies opened up and we were all blessed with an amazing April day near 80 degrees. Today finds wind, rain, and 50 degrees. The same can be said for our rivers. Though [...]
A couple weekends ago some the Hatchless crew headed south to the Mad River in search of a Henny hatch. Now before I get into this grand adventure let me remind you that we are not very lucky when it comes to the so called “hatch”. As a matter of fact I have yet to [...]
